White Elephant Resorts, a collection of award-winning boutique hotels and luxury resorts located on Nantucket, Massachusetts and Palm Beach, Florida, is currently seeking a full-time, year-round AV/IT Help Desk Support Administrator. This is an entry level Audio Visual/Information Technology position involving support across multiple function spaces for AV needs, as well as multiple properties for IT support. The right candidate will be highly motivated and eager to learn about IT and AV systems.

Responsibilities include:

  • Support IT needs of the organization as part of the IT Helpdesk team.
  • Provide TIER I support to staff and guests with issues relating to computers, printers, POS terminals, TVs, telephones and Wi-Fi connectivity.
  • Provide TIER II support of network issues under supervision.
  • Work as part of an on-call rotation with other members of the IT Department.
  • Basic cabling of network and AV related equipment as needed. Ability to troubleshoot network, AV system and telephone cabling issues.
  • Prepare and install new equipment including: computers, monitors, printers, wifi, etc.
  • Document all service tickets in IT Ticketing system.
  • Assist event staff with setup and testing of AV equipment prior to and during events, as needed.
  • Oversee the use and maintenance of all AV systems, including audio, projection and presentation systems in meeting rooms and halls.
  • Provide routine maintenance on all presentation and music systems. Plan for EOL replacement of all equipment as needed.
  • Maintain positive internal and external guest relations at all times; resolve complaints expeditiously and ensure guest satisfaction.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Must Have:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically: Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
  • Proficiency with both Microsoft Windows and Apple OS based products.
  • General knowledge of Active Directory, Microsoft 365, DHCP and DNS.
  • Close attention to detail.
  • Willingness to take direction, learn and grow with the department.
  • Basic understanding of a computer network and computer systems.
  • Ability to work in varied conditions including: indoors, outdoors, and in an office setting. Ability to work in small spaces, bend, stoop, climb stairs, and lift objects up to 50lbs.
  • Ability to work with basic hand-tools (screwdriver, hammer, etc.) and simple hand-held electric tools (electric screwdriver, cable toner, etc.)
