Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Developmentally appropriate and play-based child interaction
- Meet the emotional, social, physical and cognitive needs of each child
- Prepare meals and follow dietary restrictions
- Maintain daily open communication with parents
- Keep clear and correct reports and records regarding accidents, medication, and daily parent reports
- Ensuring that a warm, high-quality learning environment is maintained.
- Maintain confidentiality
- Report any suspected abuse to supervisor
- Ensuring that a warm, high-quality learning environment is maintained.
- Maintain a positive, safe and healthy environment
- Attend all staff meetings at The Ranch at Rock Creek
- Meet all applicable licensing/registration regulations
- Be a positive influence in the lives of children and their parents
Education/Experience:
- High school or equivalent education required
- Previous supervisor and childcare experience preferred
- Must meet state education and licensing requirements
- Pass background check
- CPR and First Aid Certified
- Updated immunization records (measles, mumps, rubella, tetanus, and diphtheria)
- Complete 8 hours of approved training annually
- Attend Basic Daycare Orientation within 60 days of hire and complete 8 hours of approved training annually
Skills and Experience:
The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities and be able to explain and demonstrate that he or she can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation, using some other combination of knowledge, skills, and abilities:
- Must be able to speak, read, write and understand the primary language(s) used in the workplace.
- Must be able to read and write to facilitate the communication process. Requires good communication skills, both verbal and written.
Physical Demands:
- Position requires walking and standing most of the working day; must be able to stand and exert well-paced mobility for up to 6 hours in length. Length of time of these tasks may vary from day to day and task to task.
- Requires manual dexterity to use and operate all necessary equipment.
- Must be able to lift up to 35 lbs. on a regular and continuing basis.
- Must be able to exert well-paced ability in limited space.
- Must be able to bend, stoop, squat and stretch to fulfill tasks.
- Requires grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, bending, climbing, listening and hearing ability and visual acuity.
- Talking and hearing occur continuously in the process of communicating with children, providers and parents.
- Vision occurs continuously with the most common visual functions being those of near vision and depth perception.
