Description

Primary Purpose of Position
Assist servers in providing quality food and beverage service to guests, according to hotel specifications, courteously and efficiently. Maintain cleanliness of tables, service areas and equipment. Stock all wares and equipment needed for service.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Maintain knowledge of table/seat/station numbers, room capacity and proper table set-up.
  2. Maintain knowledge of and strictly abide by state liquor regulations.
  3. Serve non-alcoholic beverages to guests in accordance with departmental specifications.
  4. Serve bread and butter to guests in accordance to departmental specifications.
  5. Remove and transport soiled wares from tables to the dishwashing area as assigned.
  6. Separate soiled wares and food according to procedures.
  7. Clean and reset tables after guest departs in accordance with departmental procedures.
  8. Monitor and maintain cleanliness of assigned tables.
  9. Place additional wares on tables as directed.
  10. Anticipate guests’ needs, respond promptly and acknowledge all guests.
  11. Be familiar with all hotel services and local attractions to respond to guest inquiries accurately.
  12. Monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation and organization of all service areas.
  13. Replenish wares in wait station throughout shift.
  14. Clean coffee machine and other beverage equipment as assigned to the established standards.
  15. Complete all assigned side opening and closing duties.
  16. Maintain complete and comply with all departmental policies/service procedures.

Qualifications

Education/Experience

  1. 6 months experience as a Bus Person or Runner.
  2. Ability to satisfactorily communicate in English with guests, management and co-workers.
  3. High school graduate or equivalent.
  4. Certification of previous training in liquor, wine and food service.
  5. Certification in alcohol awareness program.
  6. Prior training in guest relations.
  7. Valid drivers license

Special Skills/Equipment

  1. Ability to anticipate and understand guests’ service needs.
  2. Ability to be organized, maintain concentration and think clearly when providing service to guests.
  3. Ability to focus attention on details.
  4. Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 40 lbs.
  5. Ability to stand for long periods of time and move frequently from area to area.
