Job Summary
Isla Bella Beach Resort is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Staff Accountant to join our accounting team. This position plays a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting month-end close processes, managing accounts payable, and ensuring compliance with internal controls and external regulations.
Key Responsibilities
Cash Management & Reconciliations

Ensure all cash receipts are deposited daily in accordance with company procedures

Conduct regular audits of house banks to ensure internal control compliance

Reconcile complimentary services and goods provided (comps) to ensure proper accounting
Accounts Payable & Vendor Management

Manage accounts payable process including invoice processing and vendor payments

Reconcile vendor statements to ensure accuracy and timely resolution of discrepancies
Dispute & Retrieval Management

Handle credit card chargeback disputes and retrieval requests with appropriate documentation and timely resolution
Month-End & Year-End Close

Assist with preparation and posting of journal entries

Reconcile general ledger accounts on a monthly basis

Support month-end and year-end closing activities and reporting
Financial Reporting

Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements

Generate financial reports for management as needed
Compliance & Auditing

Assist with internal and external audits by preparing required documentation

Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local financial regulations
General Office & Administrative Support

Maintain organized and up-to-date financial records
-
Support special projects including system implementations and process improvements

Perform various administrative and ad hoc tasks to support department operations
Qualifications
-
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required

1–3 years of accounting experience preferred (hospitality industry experience a plus)

Proficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, or similar systems)

Strong understanding of GAAP and financial principles

High attention to detail, strong analytical and organizational skills

Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
