About The Foolery:

The Foolery is a fine dive bar that serves up a scratch-made Detroit-style, square pan pizza featuring an inventive twist on the food, nostalgic craft cocktails, and cold beer. Menu items are served up in a playful atmosphere, denoting retro decor and that wall paneling found in Grandma’s basementall of the haphazard throwbacks in a niche neighborhood bar. Hitting all of the comfort points for the next, We should hang out soon, this Misfit Joint is where folks snag an after-work beer with colleagues and stay for the pizza. Or, one to bring friends to for a laid-back dinner and stay for the innovative cocktails.

Responsibilities & Duties

  • Handle initial contact with all guests; greet guests in a positive, professional, and welcoming manner and thank them as they leave.
  • Provide information and conversation while guests are waiting and being seated.
  • Accommodate guests with special requests.
  • Maintain positive guest satisfaction by answering questions thoroughly, handling complaints or directing them to a manager, and providing specific item suggestions and information about the establishment.
  • Quote accurate wait times and maintain a time efficient list.
  • Direct guests to the proper waiting area.
  • Coordinate orderly movement of guests within the food service area with utilization of a table management system.
  • Know table numbers, seating floor plans, and server section assignments.
  • Communicate effectively with all guests, co-workers, and management.
  • Maintain organization of the host stand and keep supplies stocked.
  • Answer telephone calls.
  • Maintain cleanliness around the front facade, keep the venue clean and free of litter at all times.
  • Maintain high-level of knowledge regarding the company’s products and happenings, and communicate properly to guests; establish rapport with all guests through name recognition.
  • Perform other duties and tasks as assigned or determined by management or supervisors and move with a sense of urgency.
  • Adhere to responsible alcohol service established by company policy.
  • Understand and utilize all safety and sanitation practices as defined in the safety program and report any accidents to management.
  • Welcome all guests in our restaurant with a warm and inviting demeanor
  • Provide efficient and personal service to each and every customer
  • Maintain the highest degree of quality and consistency in product standards
  • Communicate with team members and management to solve problems
  • Participate in maintaining a positive work environment
  • Stay informed on products and share knowledge with team members and guests
  • Maintain and organize store supplies and appearance (dry and perishables)
  • Ensure compliance and adherence to service and safety standards
  • Performs all other related duties as assigned.
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures.
  • All staff members are required to follow the guidelines set forth by the Employee Handbook.

Qualifications

Reports To: General Manager

Required Training, Education, & Experience:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Knowledge of basic drink mixology
  • Previous bartending experience

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must be able to work flexible days and hours, including weekends and holidays.
  • Physical ability to unpack products and sort them including bend and lift to up to 20 pounds.
  • Perform repetitive motion with hands, and wrists
  • Must be able to stand for extended periods of time, and move about the restaurant over the shift.
  • Basic Math & Computer Skills
  • Ability to perform several tasks simultaneously.

Language Skills

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos, ability to write simple correspondence, ability to effectively present one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other staff members of the organization and restaurant community.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages and ability to apply concepts of basic algebra.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished written, oral, or diagram form, ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations and ability to address customer personalities in various business situations.

Physical Demands
