Job Description

Race Crew Lead is a customer-facing position responsible for the daily operation of public and private NASTAR racecourses. This position also oversees the staff assigned to races from day to day.

Job will be posted till November 10, 2025.

Qualifications

  • Must be 18 years or older

  • Advanced or above skiing skills

  • Able to work outdoors in variable weather conditions for extended periods of time

  • Able to ski without poles while carrying a bag of gates or a drill

  • Prior experience racing or working for a racing program

  • Basic accounting and strong computer skills

  • Fluent in English - verbal and written

  • Other language skills a plus, especially Spanish

  • Solid knowledge of resort and area

  • Working knowledge of NASTAR program

  • Some management experience

  • Experience driving a snowmobile

  • Valid CO driver’s license

  • Pacesetter handicap

Additional Information

Education & Experience Requirements

  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Daily setup up, maintenance and breaking down of NASTAR racecourses

  • Attend race registration to meet and greet guests as they enter registration area

  • Time races and announce race times

  • Pacesetting course and provide race tips to guests, ensuring their fun and safety

  • Accounting for monies collected and data management

  • Drive snowmobile in a safe manner as assigned

  • Helps monitor employee performance, delegates tasks to staff

  • Employs practical decision making with regard to the safety of racecourses

  • Call in grooming for next day

  • Assist with guest challenges as they arise

  • Provide staff training and monitor employee performance

  • Complete all paperwork neatly and accurately

Work Environment and Physical Demands:

  • Ability to reach, crouch, kneel, stand, walk or be on your feet for extended periods of time.
  • Regularly work in wet, hot and humid conditions for extended periods of time and may be required to walk on slippery and uneven surfaces.
  • Must be able to continually lift, push or pull up to 50 lbs. individually or with assistance.
  • This position at certain locations will require an employee to ski or snowboard
