Job Description

The Guest Services Supervisor is primarily responsible for overseeing the daily operations of Base Operations operated by the Guest Services department, as well as helping with activities and special events. This position works with Supervisors to ensure safe workplace standards are being met and staff are offering outstanding service to guests. This position reports to the Guest Services Manager.

The budgeted salary range for this position is $58,656 - $70,000. Actual pay will be dependent on budget and experience, all our salaried roles are eligible for bonus.

Essential Job Functions

· Work alongside the manager to supervise and coordinate the activities of approximately 70 employees, including scheduling, hiring, training, evaluating performance, assigning duties, and conducting performance reviews.

· Engage with guests, coworkers, and other department personnel while addressing guest complaints and issues, ensuring prompt resolutions. Meet with guests or follow up with phone calls in a timely manner

· Provide classroom and on-the-job training to staff, including documentation of all records

· Oversee daily operations including base area operations, parking and guest transportation, picnics and other duties

· Cover for manager and other supervisors on their days off. When the other supervisors are off, this would entail overseeing other departmental operations including daily operation of alpine coaster and tubing as well as all operational aspects of Ullr Nights and special events

· Meet with Ambassadors in mornings

· Continually educate/inform staff with regards to operating standards, product knowledge, upselling techniques, events and customer service excellence

· Ensure that work areas are safe

· Ensure an efficient, budget-conscious operation while managing inventory of activity supplies and placing orders promptly

· Monitor and evaluate staff behavior and attendance, documenting issues and handling disciplinary matters as needed

· Support and uphold management decisions while initiating and implementing new programs within the department

· Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Education & Experience Requirements

· Must be 18 years or older

· High school diploma or equivalent required

· College degree preferred

· 1 year previous supervisory experience required

· Valid, current, unrestricted driver’s license required

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

· Strong Computer knowledge required, specifically Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel

preferred

· Ability to communicate, follow oral and written directions in English; knowledge of additional languages is preferred.

· Strong typing skills and excellent telephone skills required

· Ability to lead personnel delegating responsibilities and ensures jobs are completed

· Ability to drive manual vehicle

· Ability to adhere to standards and lead by example

· Skill in assigning tasks and responsibilities to team members based on their strengths

· Skilled in coaching and mentoring team members to help them grow professionally

· Ability to work flexible schedule including nights and weekends

· Ability to work in collaboration with others to achieve team goals

· Ability to remain focused, organized, flexible, and detail-oriented

· Follows all safety policies and procedures and exercises caution when working

Work Environment and Physical Demands

  • Ability to reach, crouch, kneel, stand, bend or be on your feet for extended periods of time
  • Regularly work in wet, cold, hot conditions requiring the use of protective apparel/equipment to prevent exposure to the elements and may be required to walk on slippery and uneven surfaces
  • Must be able to frequently lift, push or pull up to 50 lbs. individually or with assistance (weight limits can vary according to position, but no more than 50)
