Job Description

Position Summary

The Transfer Driver plays a vital role in supporting an exceptional guest experience by safely and efficiently transporting rental and retail equipment—including bikes, skis, snowboards, and gear—between resort locations. This role ensures timely delivery, product integrity, and inventory accuracy through careful handling, mobile scanning, and clear communication. Drivers must confidently navigate mountain roads, varied terrain, and winter conditions while maintaining high operational standards. This position reports to the Transfer Manager.

Essential Job Functions

  • Drive company trucks and vans to pick up and deliver rental, retail, and non-inventory product—including bikes, skis, snowboards, and accessories—between resort locations
  • Load and unload products using liftgates and rolling carts, including navigating snow, ice, and uneven terrain with loads up to 600 lbs
  • Organize products by type and destination to ensure accurate and efficient loading, transport, and delivery
  • Maximize space and safety during loading and unloading of vehicles at designated pickup and drop-off locations
  • Use mobile scanning technology and tracking software to ensure accurate inventory movement and documentation
  • Fulfill rental restocking requests by picking, packing, organizing, and racking incoming and returning equipment
  • Operate company equipment such as pallet jacks, liftgates, dock plates, and elevators safely and correctly
  • Maintain up-to-date delivery logs in compliance with state and federal regulations
  • Monitor road conditions and drive safely in all weather, including snow, ice, and mountainous terrain
  • Communicate regularly with the Transfer Manager and team to ensure smooth coordination of deliveries and pickups
  • Maintain clean, organized vehicle interiors and ensure daily vehicle readiness
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Education & Experience Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Valid, current, and unrestricted driver’s license required
  • Minimum of 6 months experience operating large box trucks or similar delivery vehicles required
  • Prior experience with loading, unloading, or transporting equipment in a warehouse or logistics setting preferred

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Knowledge of safe vehicle operation, including box trucks, in mountain terrain and variable weather conditions
  • Knowledge of warehouse safety procedures, loading techniques, and equipment usage
  • Familiarity with terminology and processes related to retail and rental logistics
  • Skill in managing time and prioritizing multiple delivery tasks under shifting demands
  • Skill in following scanning and inventory tracking procedures with consistency and accuracy
  • Ability to identify and resolve basic operational issues, especially in dynamic road or delivery conditions
  • Ability to stay focused and work independently while maintaining efficiency and safety
  • Ability to adapt to changing weather, road, or operational conditions in a high-paced environment
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills to ensure smooth coordination with other drivers and departments
  • Commitment to maintaining a clean, organized, and safe working environment

Work Environment and Physical Demands

  • Ability to reach, crouch, kneel, see, hear, sit, drive a shuttle/car for extended periods of time; squat, kneel and bend
  • Regularly work/drive in adverse weather conditions. Frequently drive in bright sunlight and at night. Exposure to noises that cause distraction and may be required to walk on slippery and uneven surfaces
  • Must be able to frequently lift, push or pull up to 50 lbs. individually or with assistance
