Job Description

Summary
The Housekeeping Manager helps hire, train, and manage staff. They assign cleaning duties and daily focal points for each Room Attendant and Houseperson. They are ultimately responsible for the cleanliness levels within guest rooms and public areas.

The budgeted salary range for this position is $70,000-$78,000. Actual pay will be dependent on budget and experience, all our salaried roles are eligible for bonus.

Essential Job Functions
· Help train, hire, and manage Room Attendants, Housepersons, and Housekeeping Supervisors
· Oversee the laundry department to ensure an adequate supply of linens and uniforms
· Supervise the laundry operation to maximize productivity, maintain quality standards, and keep within prescribed costs
· Maintain adequate labor levels to ensure an efficient operation
· Prepare weekly and daily schedules and room assignment schedules
· Ensure accuracy of employee payroll
· Ensure perpetual inspection of total room inventory is completed every 15 days
· Ensure timely completion of inventories and maintain adequate levels of linen, cleaning products, and guest supplies.
· Supervise administration of Lost and Found program
· Assist in all linen and uniform inventories and purchase in coordination with the GM
· Inspect rooms and public areas for overall cleanliness
· Set up evening shift tasks and conducts pre-shift meetings with AM and PM staff to review their assignments
· Make recommendations for operating budgets
· Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

· High School Diploma or equivalent required
· Ability to communicate in Spanish and English required
· College degree preferred
· 2 years of management experience preferred
· 5 years of housekeeping or cleaning experience preferred

Supervision Given and Received
Given: Exercises direct supervision over housekeeping staff and supervisors. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, frequent and detailed review of work, training, planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Received: Works under limited supervision of Rooms Division Manager. Receives guidance in terms of broad goals and overall objectives and is responsible for establishing strategical methods to attain them. Can formulate policies but does not necessarily have final authority for approval. Review of work is not detailed and emphasizes accomplishment of broad work objectives, rather than specific assignments.

Work Environment and Physical Demands

Ability to reach, crouch, kneel, stand, walk or be on your feet for extended periods of time. Regularly work in wet, hot and humid conditions for extended periods of time and may be required to walk on slippery and uneven surfaces. Must be able to frequently lift, push or pull up to 50 lbs. individually or with assistance.
