Job Description

Summary
The Residences at The Little Nell is currently interviewing for Engineer I and Engineer II candidates. A Maintenance Engineer has familiarity, aptitude and willingness to perform basic maintenance projects. Pay is based on experience and wage ranges between $24-$30 per hour.

Essential Job Functions
• Performing property inspections to ensure common areas are maintained in a "like new" condition and all building systems are in good working order. Troubleshooting and repairing any issues as they arise
• Performing in-residence inspections to ensure rooms are maintained to exacting standards, including: lighting, electronics, appliances, furniture, fixtures, paint, and woodwork. Fixing any problems as they are found
• Performing periodic preventative maintenance tasks on building systems and equipment as prescribed by engineering management
• Prioritizing, organizing, and completing departmental work orders and guest requests as soon as they come up
• Completing required paperwork in a timely and accurate fashion
• Able to work without direct supervision
• Maintains a polite and courteous attitude towards hotel guests
• Able to work in a team environment including frequent interaction and seamless communication with Front Drive, Front Desk, and Housekeeping personnel
• Excellent attention to detail while taking great pride in work
• Able to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, holidays, and 2nd shift

Qualifications

• A strong working knowledge of basic plumbing, electrical repair, mechanical/appliance repair, carpentry, and painting
• Familiarity with pool / spa equipment and testing is a plus
• Possesses basic computer skills and knowledge
• Holds advanced CPR and First Aid certificates or willing to receive training within six months

Additional Information

Supervision Given and Received
Given: This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Received: Works under direct supervision of Director of Engineering. Tasks are assigned according to specific procedures, and work is checked frequently. Instruction, advice and assistance are readily available.

Work Environment and Physical Demands
• Ability to reach, crouch, kneel, stand, bend or be on your feet for extended periods of time
• Regularly work in wet, cold, hot conditions requiring the use of protective apparel/equipment to prevent exposure to the elements and may be required to walk on slippery and uneven surfaces
• Must be able to frequently lift, push or pull up to 50 lbs. individually or with assistance
