Winvian Farm, our beautiful Five-Diamond luxury resort located in Morris, CT, is seeking a full-time Line Cook. Our 18 unique cottages on property serve a wide variety of clients offering individualized room packages.

The Restaurant at Winvian is a Five Diamond AAA Restaurant and retains the Wine Spectator Award of Excellence for our wine list.

Job Description

We're seeking a skilled and dedicated Line Cook to join our culinary team. As a key member of our kitchen staff, you'll play a crucial role in preparing high-quality dishes and maintaining efficient kitchen operations.

  • Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes and standards
  • Maintain a clean and organized workstation, adhering to food safety and sanitation guidelines
  • Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely and efficient food preparation
  • Assist in inventory management and stock rotation
  • Operate and maintain kitchen equipment properly
  • Adapt to changing menu items and seasonal specials
  • Communicate effectively with front-of-house staff to ensure customer satisfaction
  • Participate in kitchen cleaning and closing procedures
  • Contribute to a positive and team-oriented work environment

Qualifications

  • Authorization to work in the United States
  • Proven experience as a Line Cook or in a similar culinary role
  • Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques and kitchen procedures
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
  • Excellent multitasking and time management skills
  • Keen attention to detail and commitment to food quality
  • Ability to follow recipes and plate presentations accurately
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills
  • Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Food safety certification (e.g., ServSafe) preferred
  • Culinary school diploma or relevant certificate is a plus
  • Passion for cooking and curiosity about food trends and techniques
