We currently have an opportunity for a well-rounded and seasoned HVAC Technician to join our Pier Sixty-Six Resort opening team!

Reporting to the Chief Engineer you will manage and provide comfort, safety, and luxury standards of the hotel through expert management of all heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine and emergency maintenance and repairs on all types of HVAC equipment including air conditioning systems, heating units, and refrigeration units.
  • Take ownership of the HVAC preventive maintenance program, ensuring all equipment is serviced according to the manufacturer’s specifications and hotel standards.
  • Conduct regular inspections and performance tests on equipment to ensure continued operation and efficiency.
  • Respond to guest concerns and service calls regarding HVAC issues promptly to maintain comfort and satisfaction.
  • Maintain detailed records of maintenance work performed, parts used, and repairs completed.
  • Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations and codes related to HVAC system operation and maintenance.
  • Manage inventory of HVAC supplies and tools, ensuring availability of necessary materials for tasks.
  • Collaborate with other maintenance team members and departments to coordinate repairs and contribute to team projects.
  • Provide technical guidance and training to other engineering staff members as needed.
  • Participate in regular safety drills and training, maintaining readiness for hotel emergencies.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training or certifications in HVAC systems preferred.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in HVAC operations, preferably in a luxury hotel or similar high-standard facility.
  • In-depth knowledge of HVAC repair and maintenance; proficient in using industry-standard tools and diagnostic equipment; strong problem-solving and communication skills.
  • EPA certification for handling refrigerants; familiarity with building management systems.
  • Ability to perform physically demanding tasks; capable of lifting heavy equipment and working in varied environmental conditions.
