Overview
The Accounting Generalist at The Woodlands Resort supports the Accounting Team with day-to-day execution of accounting & administrative tasks, including support to team members in their specialized areas as they work to perform all accounting processes.
Responsibilities
• Check figures, postings, and documents for accuracy.
• Organize, secure, and maintain all files and records, in accordance with policies and procedures.
• Classify, code, and summarize numerical and financial data to compile and keep financial records.
• Prepare, maintain, audit, and distribute statistical, financial, accounting, auditing, or payroll reports and tables.
• Prepare, review, reconcile, and issue bills, invoices, and account statements according to company procedures.
• Become familiar with state tax laws and tax exempt status reporting.
• Perform all daily, monthly, and other periodic accounting and financial reporting in an accurate and timely nature.
• Compile and produce various month end, quarter end, and year end close reports,
• Assist with compiling information for auditors and other agencies.
• Assist other team members on their departments: Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Income Audit, Payroll, etc.
• Assist Controllers with projects and analysis as required.
• Facilitate other administrative functions within department as needed.
Qualifications
• Requires good communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Knowledge of computer accounting programs, math skills as well as budgetary analysis capabilities required.
• Must be proficient in Microsoft Office, intermediante to advance skill in Microsoft Excel required.
• Experience with Lightspeed, OnQ, Oracle and ProfitSword are a plus but not required.
• Knowledge of Adobe Products preferred.
• Must be able to handle a high workload volume with organization and attention to detail.
• Must possess a high level of accuracy and neatness, the ability to think critically and problem solve.
• High school or equivalent education required. Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
• One year of accounting or financial related experience.
