We’re hiring a Guest Services Coordinator to join our world class team at Sonora Resort, a luxury all-inclusive Relais & Chateaux Resort, in the unspoiled wilderness of British Columbia. Nestled in the Discovery Islands, Sonora Resort is a remote location accessed by water taxi from the town of Campbell River on Vancouver Island. This is a Seasonal position that works on site at the Resort in shift work rotations. Seeking a start date of mid-April.

Resort Life
  • All staff are provided with complimentary single bedroom accommodations. Complimentary wifi, cable TV and internet calling provided in each staff room.

  • Shift work is required from April until October; comprised of 10-21 working days and 4 non-working working days, subject to change during peak season; employees are expected to be flexible in their scheduling to meet the needs of the business.
  • Water taxi transportation is provided to and from Campbell River for scheduled work shifts
  • Staff are required to leave the resort on their scheduled non-working days and are responsible for securing further transportation and accommodation thereafter.

Position Summary
The Guest Services Coordinator position is responsible for assisting in the daily organization of the resort, including, but not limited to, concierge duties, event support and data entry. This is a multifaceted role of administration, sales and logistics, with an emphasis on guest care and delivery of the Relais & Chateaux experience. They will be expected to function within a team environment and provide a world-class experience for our guests.

Job Duties
  • Demonstrate desired service behaviors in accordance with Relais and Chateaux expectations.
  • Supports the Operations Manager with clerical duties and document creation as needed.
  • Act as primary contact on site for booking Sonora sold activities.
  • Produce Guest Activity Summary and Week at a Glance documents by data entry through POS system and coordinate distribution.
  • Keep impeccable booking records up to date for Sonora sold activities including managing the Activities Spreadsheet.
  • Lead internal and external communications with all relevant departments/parties for Guest Activity Summary changes and amendments.
  • Cross check invoices and payments with POS for accurate billing.
  • Coordinate marketing materials for guests including individualized itineraries, brochures, etc.
  • Review guest itineraries with each party during orientation.
  • Coordinate Tyee celebrations including sweaters and printed photos.
  • Assist Front Desk with guest services tasks, orientations, etc. as required.
  • Ensure effective working relationships and clear communication is maintained with all colleagues and departments.
  • Drive small electric vehicles around the resort.
Qualifications
  • Two (2) years of experience in an office setting with experience in data entry.
  • Thorough understanding of the operations of Sonora Resort’s operations; experience in a live-in resort environment is preferred.
  • High School Diploma required. Any additional education or experience in the Hospitality, Tourism, or related fields would be an asset.
  • Strong organizational and administrative skills with keen attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Must be fluent in English, second language an asset.
  • First Aid & AED certificates are an asset.
  • Applicant must be legally eligible to work in Canada.
