Description

This opportunity is available for students participating in a High School Hospitality/ Culinary Program. This internship is located at the Hersheypark Entertainment Complex. This internship will be a minimum of 100 hours, with the ability to extend participation based on performance and operational needs. This internship is open to students currently enrolled at local high school in technical programs focused in culinary or pastry arts and high school co-op programs.

Job Duties (Duties marked with an asterisk are essential functions of this job):

  • Adhere to company procedures, rules, and regulations regarding food safety*

  • Maintain a clean work environment and demonstrate ability to prepare hot and cold foods*

  • Rotate through various food and beverage outlets, including; Catering, Premium Services, Overlook Food Court, Spring Creek Smokehouse, Cookies & Donuts, Milton’s Ice Cream Parlor and other key areas across the complex.*

  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Must be at least 16 years of age or older

  • Must be a junior or senior enrolled in culinary or pastry focused program or a high school co-op program

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Basic knife skills and knife safety

Job Demands:

  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs

  • Physical requirements include standing for majority of the shift, walking, sitting and lifting

  • Must provide black uniform pants and non-slip footwear.

  • Work areas are subject to seasonal temperature variations, including extreme heat, sun exposure, cold and other inclement weather conditions

  • Shifts may include days, evenings, weekends and holidays
