Working Environment: Guest Hospitality & Working Ranch

Objective:
C Lazy U Ranch is seeking an energetic and outgoing Winter Activities Guide to deliver safe, engaging, and memorable guest experiences throughout the winter season. This role involves facilitating a variety of non-equine winter activities, assisting with guest services, maintaining activity areas and equipment, and supporting the overall operations of the Activities Team. The ideal candidate is friendly, active, service-oriented, and passionate about outdoor recreation.

Key Responsibilities:

Guest Experience & Activity Facilitation:

  • Confidently guide or support winter guest activities, including:
  • Snowshoeing
  • Nordic Skiing
  • Amazing Race-style group events
  • Ice Skating
  • Off-site adventures
  • Help facilitate unguided activity areas such as:
  • Ice skating pond- Zamboni and pond care
  • Game room
  • Fitness center
  • Assist guests with grab-and-go equipment and trail recommendations
  • Ensure all guest interactions reflect C Lazy U’s standards of safety, service, and professionalism
  • Support set-up and execution of special events and group activities

Operations & Logistics:

  • Staff the Activities Yurt and serve as a resource for guest questions and activity sign-ups
  • Fit guests with appropriate gear for winter activities (e.g., snowshoes, skates, Nordic skis)
  • Maintain and clean equipment and activity areas
  • Conduct routine safety inspections and report any issues to supervisors
  • Assist with snow removal in activity spaces and public guest areas (shoveling, salting)
  • Provide shuttle services and logistical support as needed
  • Operate snowmobiles for equipment transport or activity support when appropriate

Team & Ranch Support:

  • Collaborate with fellow team members to ensure seamless guest service
  • Assist other departments when needed (e.g., setup for events, fire building, luggage handling)
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and guest-ready environment in all workspaces
  • Participate in emergency and first aid response as trained
Requirements

Qualifications & Requirements:

Required:

  • Prior experience in guest services, outdoor recreation, or activity facilitation
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • First Aid and CPR certification (or ability to obtain upon hire)
  • Valid driver’s license with clean driving record
  • Ability to safely drive vehicles and snowmobiles in winter conditions
  • Physical ability to lift up to 60 lbs. and work outdoors in snow, ice, and cold temperatures
  • Flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays

Preferred:

  • Experience in a ranch, resort, or luxury hospitality environment
  • Familiarity with snowshoeing, Nordic skiing, and winter sports
  • Background in outdoor education, recreation, or wilderness programming
